A Concierge’s income varies widely with volume and clientele, but the starting salary for a busy concierge is about $50,000 per year, according to industry data.

• To succeed in this business, Dreiseszun says, “a person needs to be willing to serve, be a good listener and be a good communicator.”

• Offer coupons for free referrals at first. Tap into organizations and groups you belong to for networking.

• Don’t promise anything you’re not able to deliver.

• Maintain a high level of professionalism, even in a home office. Dreiseszun advises: “Don’t wear pajamas to work.”
